Good man! U'll love it, my missis forced me into as well...... By the way how come its booked in at a Superchips dealer to be fitted? With mine they just posted the Bluefin and I did it myself. Or are you getting the actually 'chip' fitted?

Decided on the agent as ive known him for over 20 years,if there is any probs id  rather Vince at MosleyEngineering sort it out than any confusion with me,ill keep you posted, thanks,ps its a bluefin not the chip...

Just quick update,
Took th ed30 down to Mosleys this morning,Vince took the car on the rolling road, but because engine still has only 1850miles only took it up to 5800 revs,in various gears there was no strain on engine, after calculations it showed peak at 216bhp,but as vince stated she was still pulling like a train,so peak calculations not possible at max revs.Due to technical probs with Vinces equipment not bluefin, installation put back to next week.
Vince will then take two readings off rolling road, pre and after bluefin fitted.
I will keep you in touch..
Wife and two youngsters very dissapointed,i think this bluefin issue is very childish,im more than happy to use public transport....
There is no additional charge to the rolling road run,but as its the first ed30 hes had on the rollers he was curious like myself.

As a matter of interest, what increase in premiums from your insurance were you quoted?

Insurance, ive contacted my insurance prior to even going for the bluefin, after attempting to relate what the bluefin does, what they have stated is if there are no exterior mods ie bigger alloys bodykit.or mechanical mods ie exhaust/ visible alteration, no excess, however i have included this in my policy ammendment i payed an excess for admin fee,so im happy with that,
However look into your policy, read the smallprint before you go for the conversion.it may be slightly different if you install a permament chip to the ecu,i dont know the answer to that one..
I would get all correspondance in writing before you go for one,

HI Mate,

I spoke to Vince as Mosley's garage yesterday, as he's the closest Superchips dealer to me and he's having some software problems I believe with regards the upgrade. I have offered (when I hopefully go down there in a few weeks) to bring along my own Windows XP laptop (plus I'm an IT Manager anyway!) If I indeed decide to do the upgrade to my standard Golf MKV GTi 2.0T.

Ed30 - is your name Aled by any chance?!

I also fancy changing the dump-valve on mine anyway, to the new revision as Vince mentioned potential problems with this.

Does anyone know how much (and the part number?) the new revision dump valve will cost for the 2.0T (I assume I can get this part from VW/ Audi dealership direct)?

Cheers,

Rob
