New screen install
« on: 11 June 2007, 20:51 »
Hi All,

I just thought i'd show my latest install...7" touchscreen in the dash...

What do you guys think?? i had to sacrifice the cigarette lighter socket and ashtray but i reckon its worth it!!

Its basically a touchscreen that in the grand plan of it all is gonna hook up to a laptop in the boot - then i'll be able to have video, music, sat nav, dvds and all the stuff that laptops can do in my car..!

Was thinking about maybe making a few of these up for sale if theres any interest...?!?

realy? not seen one like that before with the bottom two legs further round the bend.. i meant the paintyed finish doesn't look as good as a stock finish. ie if it was left plastic, set into the original centre console.

yea i agree it doesn't look as good, but i had to effectively cut the front off of the centre console and then glue the screen casing in place and backfill to get the same shape as the original centre console..so there wasn't much plastic to fit it back to...!

cheers for the comments though...i'm wondering now how i could make it look more plastic??
