My Waxed Black GTI !!
« on: 10 June 2007, 11:13 »
Waxed the beauty again yesterday. Took me 4hrs for the whole process.

Stage 1: A light Rinse to get the car wet so the dirt particles lift off themselves
Stage 2: Cleaned the Alloys
Stage 3: Wash with Zymol Autowash one panel at a time
Stage 4: Dry using P21S Microfibre Towell
Stage 5: Leave it for 30 min for it to fully dry
Stage 6: Applied P21S Paintwork cleanser on all the panels (prepares the surface for waxing, excellant stuff - smoothens the panels out)
Stage 7: Applied P21S Canuaba Wax to all panels and alloys
Stage 8: Applied Mag's Glass Cleaner to all windows
Stage 9: Appled Mag's Vinyl Restorer to all bumpers (restores shine and makes them darker)
Stage 10: Apply Mag's Tyre Shine
Stage 11: Pop open a coke and admire

Pics:

My apologies for the poor quality - the pics were taken on my phone. The shine still comes through though
WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!!!

Do you live near Stockton Riverside, recognise the building.

Looks good and you must have sweated a bucket doing that in yesterdays heat.

The car looks great (I tend to ignore the poor quality thing)

Only complaint. It takes me 4 hours to clean our car! How did you do all that? I find this car a pain to clean but afterwards it stunning. We got silver and its been raining for about 2 weeks now.

Walked into the garage and saw the car . I actually asked my dad if he could pull it out in between showers to clean the mud and dirt on it... Not to mention the monzas look black and not the usual colour. I think i will treat our car to the same next weekend

It does take ages but preparing the car for the wax is the most time consuming part. You have to get it clean so you dont trap any dirt under the wax. I tend to do 1 panel at a time when it comes to washing. I make sure all the car is kept wet and that you get no water spots. That is very important to keep the car wet through out. If after you have washed it and there is some dry spots the polish cleans them off. But drying is important. Use a microfibre towell and make sure you dry at fully. I dry it and then leave it for 30min so that it is fully dry for the polish and the wax.

Now that the car is waxed, when i come to wash it next weekend all i will do is a light rinse and a light shampoo because the wax underneath will bring the shine through again. It wount take me more than 45min to wash and dry it.
