cams n'manifold
« on: 06 June 2007, 00:37 »
iv got my mk2.finally sorted my handling with poly's, gaz shocks and eibach springs. now im looking for a little more in the engine.iv already got a 4 branch lying around. i want a cheap easy fix. and something i can do myself. so im thinking with the manifold, and cams, say a kent gs2h, will i see any more performance?

i had an old fiesta zetec s. fitting a full system and manifold made such a difference! opened the engine up.can i expect the same? Paul

i noticed a difference in performance when my 16v had a full system and 4 branch fitted. More midrange power, noticably around 3rd and 4th

Becareful with cams, if you go to wild with them you will have a monster at the topend but may idle poorly, also if the engine is high mileage you don't wont to overstress the bottom end (unless you are looking for an excuse for that 2.0 bottom end conversion ), I'd go mild or maybe fast if you are feeling lucky! I've got a 4-1 ss miltek manifold and full ss exhuast, opened up the engine espeacially top end, sounds great too
