I go to Sheerness (Kent) most weekends with work and regularly see VW's/Audis on the car transporters from the docks, this sunday just gone I saw a red Ed30 the only thing I could see was it didn't have xenons! Might be someone on here is waiting for it!! I'll keep an eye out for yours pe3ps!

Its apparently due in on Monday and will be with me on Thursday (14th) - so if you're only up at the weekend you probably won't see it!
Its gonna be a grey 3dr with xenons and rear tints - so it should be fairly easy to spot!!!

I was up at the Stealer today handing over my reg retention certificate and my insurance documents for the car.
He told me my car had docked in Tyne - and they're waiting for it to be transported up to Aberdeen for me.

Roll on Thu at 2pm!  7 days to go...

I ordered mine 1st week in March, I was told "build week 20", then 21. Chased a few times and was told it was at the docks, 36 hours on a ship to Grimsby, a day to get transported to dealer, a day later on my drive.
If you think you might be getting the run around from the dealer just mention to them that your going to speak to VW in Milton Keynes. I soon got daily phone calls with updates from my dealer.

Also to save time you can take advantage of the free weeks VW insurance so you don't have to wait for a cover note from your own insurers. See VW website for details.

Anyway my ed30 arrived on Wednesday by Thursday I had put 400 miles on the clock.
Smiles and smiles of fun.

It's well worth the wait.

Not waiting any more, finally picked up my ED30 on Friday, just filled up for the 1st time, done 320 Miles on the 1st tank = 26.5 MPG, 200 miles of motorway and 120 in traffic.

I thought waiting to get delivery was a pain in the ar*e but I am finding waiting for the night to pass so I can get to drive it just as bad !!!! (I have used every excuse to drive the car at any given moment)

The car is perfect, only 3 gripes:

1.   I orderd Cruise Control but it came without so have to have dealer fit.
2.   The DSG Gear knob metal bits move apart, I know its minor but really irritating as you can see where the metal parts should clip together.
3.   The plastic bumber covers where the headlight washers comes out are not flush.

I have spoken to the dealer, said they will look at these things when I have the CC fitted.

For those of you who are still waiting, beleive me it's worth the wait, you will not be dissapointed.

Hmm notwaiting anymore eh

Missing the factory installed cruise control is a bonus as the dealer fit is exactly the same and costs £150 as opposed to £270 from thfactory. Make sure you ask about the dealer fit price if you haven't already

You know what dealers are like, they said it would be the same price and that it probably costs more, however I directed them to their website and their price book and quoted the £150, to which the reply was stunned silence and said they will get back to me.
