i first asked the guy how much to sort out the dent in the rear wing. he says ?200 and i thought that was pretty fair so i ask for an estimate on the hole car (small rust patches, crack in the bumper etc).

if you havent got a paint code he'll be mixing his own paint to the nearest match, so it's always a gamble ! as long as he's an experienced sprayer you should be okay. shame you dont live in the midlands i could've got you a better quote  :-\

Hi Tophun, I need both front wings and bonnet praying on my mk2 golf. I have been given a quote for ?100 if I do all the prep work my self but I would rather let a professional do the prep as this is the most important part of getting a good spray job. I live in Walsall in the west midlands; do you know someone who could offer me a price for the prep and the spray?

good prepping is the key ! i've seen so many self-prep jobs turn out rubbish because they just didn't do it properly. Give Bromford Autos a ring on 0121 382 0181 , ask for Karl, tell him you got the number from his brother-in-law Chris, and he'll quote you happy  ;)

PS. He's based near the Jaguar plant, 5 mins from spaghetti junction.
