rite then u lot ive tried other boards to no avail so ill try the trusty old lot on here ive got a mk2 gti 8v 1900 digi for which i just aquired some sexy as fook original gti steelies (or so i say anyway) and the are 6j x 14" and et38 now i wann know whats the lowest tyre and best for the right money i can put on all four wheels with out costin too much or havin no rubber to put on the road???

185/65 14 are the way to go.  That is the original spec and gives good ride and handling.  As for makes, well you pays your money and makes your choice!  Had Pirellis and Dunlops on mine when I had 14s, but check out mytyres.co.uk for prices and ratings.....

nah mate u miss understand i wanna go lower on the profile ie down to a 185 45 14 or something like that i just wanna know what will fit

yeh - up the wheel size lower the profile and vice versa to keep the speedo accurate (ish :grin: :grin: :grin:)

lol is the nothing else that can be done to make the speedo more acurate or anything like that cuz i find the normal tyres far to big lol

  never came with 185/65x14's dude, they were 185/60x14's............use standard size and lower it 35mm and it'll look well cool......... :smiley:
