I take it that u know where the thermostat is? yeah? good!
pretty straight forward really
1)empty water from the system
2) 2* 10mm bolts  to undo.......can be a b!tch sometimes so be careful
3)clean the surfaces where the gasket sits
4)take out old thermo and replace with new one
5)refit the plate with new gasket preferably and tighten up the 2 bolts to correct tension
6)refill the water system and add correct amount of antifreeze/coolant
Check for leaks, let the water system warm up  and recheck
job done

Follow the btm hose from the rad to a plastic housing with 2 bolts. Remove the two bolts, drop the housing down and fit a new t/stat and seal. Refit the housing and refill the cooling system with antifreeze/water at 50% mix. Set the heater controll all the way over to hot with the fan off. Run the engine, checking the coolant level and engine temp untill the rad fan comes on. Re-check the coolant level when cold and top up as required.
If it has power steering, same job but there is a little more to remove to get to the stat housing.
Steve.

i did this on mine last weekend, it was a bit of a hassle! i had to undo the bolts for the p/s pump and move it out of the way (which took ages as they where rusty) once the ps pump it out of the way its quite easy, just unto the plastic bit under the waterpump and replace the thermostat and make sure you put a new seal in

can be really awkward to reach those bolts on the thermo housing with the pas pump in place. i took mine off completely.......

if you dont just be careful you dont catch the gasket ring thing inbetween the housing and the block cos water will leak when its under pressure.

oh yeah dont lay underneath the car as you take the housing off cos you will get a face full of water  ;D
