My MONZA 2's
« on: 26 May 2007, 16:26 »
Two of my wheels have ended up getting badly curbed. I wish it was me cos then I wouldnt be so mad.

However I am not willing to pay VWs STUPID pricing. Monzas cant be refurbed so I have been informed.

I have seen some replicas but am dubious to say the least.

Any other ideas?

Oh and I need 2 new tyres - Gonna be an expensive month at 167 a pair ha ha

if they are 17", try chipsaway, they will come out and fill and respray the whole wheel for around £70 per wheel.

however if they are 18", they are two tone paint, they have top be sent away and are over £100 per wheel.

failing that, maybe buy a second hand one of ebay?

Might have to buy a set of 17s off ebay cos they're cheap - for a while and have the whole lot sent away.

if u have 18's stick with those, the 17's arent the same quality and youd be better off on resale later

The cheapo ebay one look ok at first, but will soon start to loose the laquer. I got mine from rochford tyres of ebay. I have winter tyres on them and only use them for the winter, I might even tidy them up myself if I get time. Be under no illusion though, put them next to proper monzas and you can see the difference in quality.

I have heard you can get monzas refurbed, but it is more expensive than your usual fill and repray.

If i recall, thes guys http://www.spitandpolish.co.uk/ got a good review from a member on this forum. Also, if you dig deep enough on here there may be a reprint of when they were revied in a magazine.

Hope that helps ya.

what do u mean 17" aren't the same quality?  they do have the same silver paint all over, but apart from the the fact they are an inch smaller they are the same!
