honda s2000 vtec with an k&n at 8500rpm ----------- sex weeeeee. and my close second, lotus exige in a car lift (weird example, but the way it echo'ed was awesome)

Probably upset a few now.. but to be honest, asking whats the best sounding VW, is like asking whats the best sounding Renault, they never really kick off, unless you start to talk about supercharged V6s and the like..

had a white 8v with a KnN from a 200sx botched onto it , that sounded awesome

 Others , well Scoobies sound ace , Nice YB cossie engine , or a mk2 Escort with a BDA and then maybe a metro 6R4 ............................... i could go on all day
