As the Cat woke me up at 5.30 this morning, is was ready for work bright and early, so I thought I’d set off and take the long way round and give the motor a bit of a blast.

Well 8 or so miles into the journey, the rear view mirror was full of some kinda Toyota thingy, so I squeezed the loud pedal a little more, then more, and so on, and still this thing hung on to me, now I know it’s easier to follow someone, rather than lead, but this thing was nippy, I managed to pull away from it on longer sections between bends, but it was like a Jack Russell at my ankles.

As we hit traffic we parted company, and I noticed Auris 2.2D on the tailgate, when looking up the engine spec’s, I see it has 400 nm of torque. :

Still a jaw dropping £20k for a near basic one though, is it me, or have car prices shot up ovger the last couple of years?
