8 valve, gasflowing

I wanted to get my head gasflowed and ploished, but i was told that i needed bigger valves and a fuel regularor pump. Does anyone know where i can get these items , or if i actually need bigger valves when i get it gasflowed ?

orite mate u can port and polish it yourself if u get the rite bits n bobs and it will wave ya a lot of cash for a decent amount og gain as for flowing it i really dont know but if u wanna know bout port n polishing it gimme a shout ill put ya right

ok thanks mate, i wouldnt mind port and polishing it , just got a quote for getting bigger valves and a stage three gasflow for £400 plus i have all the oil,gaskets ready , but not sure if its worth waiting and getting a stage 4/5 gasflow. wat is entailed in a port and polish, is there any bhp gain ?

depends on how good u do it and how much u do but basicaly its taking out all the impurities in the casting of the head and matching the inlets up with the ones on the manifold etc etc u need a dremmel multi or similar and a few different shapes of stones and sanding bits for it and basicaly just take off all the lumps and bumps in the manifold and the head depending on how good u do it u can get upto 10 bhp but more to the point u get a lot better airflow so if your having mutli angle valve seats cut in ull see a big difference and gas flow etc etc ull see a lot better results

ok then, might do that myself and then see if i want to get it gasflowed when i have the money, have you got any pictures or any more info on what i need, i herd you can also gasflow the throttle body yourself too.
ps. wats multi angle valve seats ?

rite mate multi angle valve seats are basicaly what they say. ur valves meet the head with one 45 degree angle at thje moment but if u have multi angle seats cut they decrease the amount of sharpness of the angle buy cuttin 3 5 7 or more angles in effect smoothing the it out into a curve rather than a sharp angle. if that makes sense.. what it does is makes the airflow a lot lot better u only really need 5 angle max but if u wanted too u cud go more. if u do your head work yourself and then take it to a shop and have it skimmed and have the valves multi angled it shud cost ya around a hundred quid for just those two bits and will make a very big difference to the performance of ya car as far as the inlet stage goes. personaly i would do those bits then go for a 2e bottom end lightened flywheel and a 270 degree cam then a 16v clutch presure plate and ull find if u do that ull be pushin upto 150 pretty easily and even as far as 170 to 180 bhp if u do it all right

ok mate, that sounds good ill look forward to getting them later, thanks for your reply about the multi angle valve seats. i wouldnt mind anywhere around 150 , ill be a happy golfy then
seen a camshaft for 150 might be worth getting like u said, its on my other post.

with that kinda setup ull awant a 270 degree cam at least and ull easily get ya valves and ya head skim for 150
