Easy job mate Remove ya steering wheel 24 mm nut (mark it fist to aid replacing it) once thats off look for 3 flat headed screews remove these the stalks are now free bar the wiring plugs Hope this helps   :grin:

to remove the airbag if you havent done one before it is safer to get a garage to do it.
1 if it goes off they are liable for the damage.

however. basically disconnect the car battery and leave for 24hours, to be safe
then the airbag is held onto the steering weel at the rear by two allen bolts, remove these and disconnect the airbag and then remove the steering wheel marking it so it goes back on straight.

refiiting is reversal however sometimes the airbag light will stay on so will need vag to reset it.

but as stated if you havent done it before would recomend getting a garage to do it for your own saftey at the time and in the future.

Did mine easy peasy! And you only have to disconnect battery for 15 mins!

But I did say as his car has some dodgy electrics it might blow up!

The dodgy electrics is caused by the sticky hazzrd switch, hence the reason Oli needs it changed

So ill tell him your voluntering to do this then  :wink:
