I'm after replacing the exhaust on my GTi 8v and want to know which one(s) I should go for. Don't want to spend to much, and needs to be suttle I'm not after major power gains just replacing the standard one. Anyboy got any ideas?

Do you want Stainless Steel?
Most aftermarket ones are, though you can get mild steel ones.

I originally had a piper exhaust but now with the car being lowered it fouled the rear axle and banged all the time and no matter how much adjustments were done it wouldn't fit right....... I believe jetex are a good fitment and not over priced or try scorpion for full stainless

Or Magnex or Milltec or janspeed or..............
You make your choice and pay your money!
Also look on ebay as full systems come up on there.

You can also just replace the backbox for £80-150, volksbits do some I think. Backbox only brands I think are PECO and ASSO, had an ASSO before, good quality, easy fit and let engine breathe a little better.

Most of them do backbox only, certainly Magnex and Janspeed do!

Well I don't know if it's best to replace the whole system or just the back box?

CAT back if you want any extra performance.
If its just for looks then back box only.
