Yep, I had it done on my R32. Just tell your mate to head to his dealer and ask for the 'anti-hijack' function to be turned on. It takes 5 mins over the VagCom. Make sure its done for free!! If they have not heard of the anti-hijack term, its the function that will lock the doors when the car goes over 9mph and then unlock them when the car is stopped and keys removed.

Hope this helps!

Nathan, I worked for VW for 6 years, unless it has been done on a midline car before you received it there is no way of getting the midline to do it. Its only done over VagCom as I stated above unless you have the Highline.

To be honest having spent thousands of pounds and I feel thats the least the dealer could do. I mean it does quite literally take 2 mins. You are simply turning on a feature of the car. More to the point, I only wish VW would make the highline standard. I have mates who were told by dealers that the 50 quid for the highline is not worth it. Well in conjunction with leaving home lights etc it allows you to adjust the timing and much more. The dealer my mate had told him he was unable to do this with the highline. Only I convinced him he was glad he paid the 50quid for it. He has also turned on his antihijack function.
