mk2 wiper motor into mk1

hi sorry to post the same thread on more than one board but i need to get this sorted, as you know the weather is dog turd! now all is good to go all i have to do is connect the wires, now the mk2 motor has these:


and the mk1 loom these:


so which to which?? Rob

i am thinking that if i match the red and green from the mk2 and the mk1 motor and then the two browns that i will get it work but with out the different speeds??

have you still got a section of the mk2 wiper motor loom as the connection blocks for a mk1 motor and mk2 motor are different the colours 90% of the time are a match however its woth checking with a voltmetre to be 100% sure. the motor you are using is from a 1988 onwards as the early Mk2 the wipers are a different direction to the mk1.

i have just cut the mk1 connector off and spliced on some more wire with spade connectors on, all i have to do is figer out what goes where, i dont have a vault meter, do you have any idea of what wire goes where?

i am guessing that brown will go to brown on the mk1 loom, then the wires that are red and green from the mk2 motor will go to the green and black and the green that leaves the other green and yeallow and the black and grey and on the mk2 theres the blue and the white, if i have a guess and get it wrong will it burn the motor out??
