Ok, as some of you know ive only had a licence since september and havnt taken my car anyware special, On friday night i was in a carpark racing with a few people and i was winning a few races. It was fun.
So last night i go down there and see the same people, I ask them for one last race in there 1.4 astra, So i run them and this old guy in a white astra blocks off the road trying to stop us, I think its the police and speed out of the carpark into a near by lay-by, The other car follows me out and asked me why i left, I told them i thaught it was the police and they where like "naa, All the police are in watford, Theres a big cruze going on in the asda car park"
So i decided to head out that way, So i drive towards the A41 bypass and stop at the traffic lights, Infront of me is a Escort Turbo lined up against a lill citron AX. Then to the left of me a older Astra lined up next to me and behind him sat another escort, On green all 5 of us went for it up the hill, The AX was fast, Probally a engine swap but it slowed down a lot after it hit 60MPH, We slid onto the Bypass and started racing again when a Ford Escort Cosworth joined in, The race got pritty intence as the Escort cossy and The Escort Turbo went for it, While the AX sat behind, I ran behind the 2 Escorts with the Astra behind me,
We came off the bypass and around the huge round-a-bout and i saw the escorts where having a lot of problems round corners, They seemed to loose grip, So im had the really smart idea of trying to use this as an advantage to catch up, So i do and im side by side with the turbo (the cossie was a long way ahead) when the turbo just lets it all go and shoots forward, Thats when i noticed the traffic island right infront of me, I slammed on my breaks (gotta love stock breaks
) and slid into the lane cutting up the Astra driver.
Just before we got to the cruze we all stopped in a petrol stations forcourt, I appologised for cutting up the astra driver who was quite polite about it and said not to worrie about it and he was pritty suprised at how my golf handled especially with a driver without that much experence driving it, which was a nice thing to hear.
At that point we where joined by another large group of your typical show cars, a few Pug 206's a load of corsas and a few other hatchbacks. We went to the ASDA carpark where the cruze was being held to see a huge police blockade waving cars to the right or to the left in some sort of order. I was told to go to the left, All the cars asked to go to the right where then told to leave the carpark and return home as the cruze had been canceled. All of us on the right where asked to remove ourself from out cars leaving them unlocked and sit on the curb. I was like sh!tty my self at that moment
The cops where sorta polite and said they had pulled out cars over as they seemed to look as though they where the more powerful cars who could be involved in some sorta organised street racing event that had happend a few nights ago, I havnt heard about this, But i wish i knew where it was
I sorta explained that it was new to me blah blah blah, And my car was given a road side MOT inspection. GREAT as my cars due for a MOT by the 2nd of march
The only fault they had was that i didnt have a front number plate (i know i know i was bragging about getting away with it for so long no need to rub it in
) so ive been given a producer which i sorted out this morning and ive been given a 2 week "grace" to have my number plate sorted out and stamped by a MOT approved test center
I like not having a front number plate!!!
But that was my first cruze, It lasted all of 15 mins racing there, 3mins taking in a petrol station car park and half an hour getting my ass handed to me by the cops and having my car searched and inspected, They also had the cheak to remove my big cuban cigar my best friend gave to me as a good luck charm and break it in two to check if it contained Weed!
But all in all it was fun, Except amost getting my self killed, almost crashing into a Astra, being chased out of a carpark by a old man and getting my car poked and prodded by the local constabulry. Oh and then explaining to my mum how a 15min trip to the fish and chip shop resulted in my being gone for 2 hours, getting a producer and being orderd to get a front number plate by the police
