Not done it myself but watched it being done on my car and it was dead easy. However that was in a garage and way up in the air on a ramp!
DIY on jack/axle stand would be a bit more difficult.

I have done it on my 16V. It is quite tricky but not impossible. Would definately recommend you have the car as high up as you can, on a proper ramp if possible and two pairs of hands is helpful too!
Good luck. Phil

I did it on a ramp and i didnt find it too bad.. If you can get someone to help you its a lot easier as they can take the tension up for you while you check its all in place

I found it quite easy... its a case of pulling on the tensioner with a 13mm ?? spanner until it releases and whipping the belt off... because i had to take it off when i did my timing im not too sure whether you have to take off the alt belt beforehand. If you do then there is like a cog on a 13mm bolt at the bottom which needs to be released to take off the tension so you can remove the alt belt
