Im in the enviable position of being able to change my wheels and tyres every 6 months so i have ran both the Toyo T1R & Yoko Prada Spec 2 Review on both are:
TOYO
Probably the best tyre i have had in the wet, seriously i diddnt loose much grip on a damp road to dry!! Dry grip was as good as you need in most situations, the front only pushing out on the tighter fast corners but when it did it was progressive and not snappy as all. Wear was not bad, these i ran for the longest time of 12 months they needed replacing as the inside edge has gone (my fault diddnt re align when i fitted the wheels) other than that excellent tyre.
YOKO
Probably the best and worst tyre i have had. Best because the level of grip in the dry was astonishing, far more that i ever needed. Worst because of the wet grip, Im not joking, they were terrible. i would JUST about live with the wet cornering but straight line grip was, in my opinion, dangerous. Locking up when braking into a round about as normal speeds (the car in front was the same approach speed and broke later) is not what you want.
In sum up go for the Toyo, they give the same MPG at yoko and are even a little quieter. With the weather in this country, you will use the wet performance more that the exceptional dry of the Yoko.
Well thats what i think anyway!!
