16v CAT
« on: 14 May 2007, 08:49 »
Changed the CAT on my car Saturday.
Bought a cheapy one from GSF - £75 plus VAT

Different shape, more compact.
Thought I would have problems with rusty nuts/bolts but they came undone no problem - except for the lambda sensor! That was an absolute pig. Had already taken off the CAT so coldnt get any purchase to undo it! So had to put it back in and do everything up tight again! You can only use an open ended spanner (22mm) but after a good application of WD40 it did come undone in the end!

Question!
Where the lambda sensor is now on the new CAT its a bit more exposed to the elements. Should I try and shield it in some way? I have some heat shrink tubing that I may be able to use.
