My heater controls aren't very readable at night, though there is a light on... is that normal?

They dim along with the clock dimmer wheel, you sure they're not turned down very low?

Can you get a bulb that size lower than 1.2 watts?       :undecided:

so if this is a wrong bulb thing.. whats the right one?

btw if i remember right.. i took mine apart to look for the bulb. drove to halfords with the dash apart.. and fixed it back together outside in 2 mins (hence upside down light pipe bit)...  mines lighter around the central knob as i think its not spreading to the sides doh!

sounds like the light guide isn't aligned properly, thats the transparent piece of plastic that looks like a spider. basically it works a little like a fibre optic and directs the light from the bulb to each of the heater dials and panel.

mine looks like this, some parts are brighter than other, but in real life it's all illuminated, if you have aircon, theres a blanking plate behind the 'air conditioning' part on the panel which can be removed so that the words illuminated aswell.

they can also crack/snap if so then they won't transmit as much light through.
