Golf GTi Mk 3 - slippery cornering...
« on: 10 May 2007, 13:14 »
Hi guys, new on here...

can anyone diagnose what may be wrong with my lovely golf...
when cornering the front of the car seems slippery, and appears to slide a little bit...anyone got any idea what this may be??

Have checked the tyre pressure and all seems fine...

did have a minor argument  with a kerb not so long ago, would this have thrown the tracking out / wheels need re-balancing?

helllllp!

Are you on standard wheels/tyres?

Tracking dont usually affect the handling that much.

Then either you are pushing it too hard or you have some fault with the suspension.
Maybe worn bushes on the anti-roll bar.

Wouldnt go anywhere near kwik Fit with a barge pole!
I'm only guessing at the cause as your description is a bit vague.
Find a few good local garages and as its supension work probably one that does MOT's as well and get your car checked out. And see what they say and ask for a quote.

Odd this post has just arrived.... I accelerated into a roundabout today at quite a low speed and it was far from a sharp turn... but totaly lost control of the front end, lucky the car stayed on track and i managed to get out of it ok.
