Thank you  boneybradley

Original key does have a light indeed. I guess I need to check wht make is  immobiliser if it is there at all.Coud the sensors be for alarm instead of immobiliser?
Door is not affected at all and other locks work fine.I was just afraid I would need to change all central locking system..

Regards,
S

Hey,

I am just going to find the most awkward to get to, essential wire on thats needed to start the car. Then cut and rejoin it through a hidden switch; a kill switch. Total cost about £5 from Maplin.

Easy and very secure if you do it right. Unless the thief has a mulitmeter with him/her then it's a tow away job.

Hi themadatter,

I assume that would be remotely controlled switch if it is hidden?

Hey.
Well I meant just to well hide the switch in the car somewhere so you flick it when you want to start the car.
I know of one fella who made it so one of the blank switches near the cigerette lighter would push in to start.

You COULD also get a remote switch with fob from Maplin and they are not that expensive.

Guess I'm just a tight git and always looking for money-saving options.

If done right though; this would be a very cheap and effective deterrent.

Try looking up 'kill switch' on the forum and maybe some guys have already done it.
Cheers
Jamie

Is the mechansim of the lock damaged? Will the key turn in it?

If not you have the problem of a coded key so yes only a VAG garage can help you.
