Speaker sizes
« on: 20 February 2003, 16:23 »
Bought myself a 96 8v gti a little while ago and want to upgrade the factory speakers.

I know I'm being lazy but does anyone have the speaker sizes of the oe equipment?

Cheers in advance

Cheers for the quick reply.

I've also got a small problem with the running of the car.

When approaching a junction and engaging the clutch (ie coming to a stop) the revs sometimes drop right down to about 2-3 hundred, causing the car to stall at times. I've been told that this is a common prob with the mk3, caused by a faulty temperature sensor? Does this sound about right??

My ABS light has also come on, but I guess I'll have to take the car in to get the sensors checked for that.

You will find that the standard speaker will sound quite good if run off of a head unit but if you are planning to amp them up then you will need to up grade then.  And they are 17cm
