SUPA Guard

Bit of advice if poss,

The old dear works in a Mitsubishi main dealer and said she could get hold of some Supaguard dead cheap for my new ED30, so I thought why not.

Well now I have the kit and it looks pretty easy to do (basically you get an inpregnated sponge that you piece and spread over the car, then buff off).  Is it really that simple??

It also comes with a can of interior spray for the carpets and seats which you just spray on.  Anyone had any experience, views on this?  Dont want to f**k up me new motor!!!

My Brother in-law used to apply this stuff all day long, it was called  Diamond Brite, but the same kind of thing, preparation is EVERYTHING, and the end result is only as good as the prep work, the  garage he used to work for charged around £350 to cover a Jag, and that was 8 years ago. He did my old Audi A3 and although it looked good when first done, I don't think it lasted more than about 3 month, so I went back to waxing.

Anyway he also gave me a trigger spray of the fabric treatment, which was really a Scothgaurd type protect ant. I felt this was a very good product, and used to spray my mats with it, which made cleaning them in the winter much easier.

Make sure the area you intend to treat is vacuumed and clean and dry, take the mats out and spray in a well vented area, leave to dry before refitting.

Supa guard is a good base, you wont mess anything up, but remeber apply liberally.

It is a waste of money from the steelers as the kits are relatively cheap to buy.

Does only last a few months though, then you have to wax,

I've used it and it is good. However you do still need to wax / polish. If you keep on top of it (polishing that is) it takes little effort.

I did Autoglym on mine and it cost me £10 from ebay... It took me a whole day to apply though but I wanted to make sure it was done properly.
