wow you don't here of a 1.4 blowing its rings very often  :smiley:   One thing i'm lacking is a decent zaust..... i have the stock one, which is broken but it sounds fantastic for some reason  :nerd:

u mean its blowing  :grin: i had a cheery bomb exhaust on mine  :tongue: was nice n loud. i do miss my lil 1.4 ryder but she was just costing tooo much, so in away im glad  :cry:

Mine is 1.4 ryder, do you mean costs so much as in things breaking?  because my mk3 seems to be falling to bits although its in relatively good condition.  I'm half tempted to get my self an XR3I again and give up on the golf, every thing seems to break on this bloody car!!!!

well alot of things were al ready gone lol. i had a health check at wrk for it (before it blew up lol) and the total cost of things wrong and repair bill was around 1700 lol it was a gorgeous car, it was just what was gogoin on inder the bonnet and behind the wheels lol  :cry:

So far i need...

Tracking (£25)
Camber (£35)
Two new tires (£50 each)
Hydraulic Lifters replacing (£80)
New clutch (£120)
new exhaust (£250) << want a stainless
New rear shoes AND Drums!! (to much for that they are)
The correct spring cups  (£40)

All this for some one who has £30 spare a week Before petrol....  :cry:

I turbo charged my old 1.4L Golf that was great fun!!   didn't half shift compared to when it was N/A  Spent a stupid amount of money making bits and fitting it... then i sold it to my mate for £800 lol  still going strong though running 1.5PSI still afaik

First off mate id have a really good service, some times its suprizing what this can do. Then id look at the suspension first befor the engine because unless you are will to spend loads on the 1.4 you arnt going to get big BHP.... :wink:

Was after cheap/easy mods, oh well maybe not on this golf as im on a limited budget (whatever i can hide from the wife budget!)
