Dunno what the best is, but I've just bought the fiance a super duper vax with all the attachments.

It's got an excellent little attachment, designed for picking up animal hairs, works a treat on the car.

I guess if need be, I'll use a carpet shampoo.

It has a whole section on interiors. Probably has what you're looking for.
