Noob Needs Help... GT TDi 130

Hi People...

last week i got myself a Golf GT TDi after much hunting...

I have a few questions...

Firstly... i have a balnk display panel under the warnings display.. The part that is meant to show the Trip mileage, Fuel Consumption, Temp etc... I have the Toggles on the wiper stalk but can't get the display working... It lights up red when lights are on so there is power to the unit...

Also i have no audio warning that my lights are on when i open the car door.

And my interior light on the bottom of the Driver door isn't working... (this could be a bulb though as i haven't checked yet)

Could all of the above be related?.. If they can be fixed easily can someone tell me how!?...

Could be some sort of fuse mate,

what colour, age, mileage etc mate?

They are nice cars, but do have little faults that shouldn't cost too much to fix...

If the door light is not a bulb and you have a silver car it is probably the door switch, if you have a black one then............ only joking, it will still be the dor switch

does your remote locking still work and also the interior coutersy light?

if not then its def a fuse otherwise as Gaz has said its mostly the door switch

Sorry..

Colour is Tornado Red.. on an 02 plate...

1 owner from New, FVWSH, 83k...

I have no interior courtesy light either... i'm guessing the door module is at fault.. The car locks fine and the windows/mirrors work great... and i checked the bulb yesterday and i have no power going to the light unit...

Any idea's on my half display?.. Is taking the cluster our fairly easy!?..

I've got an audible alarm in mine when i leave the lights on and open the door.

I have no interior courtesy light either...

the light should come one when you unlock the car on the key fob, so i'm guessing that as you've got no light its going to be the fuse like Maka said.

does the light come on if you switch it on manually?  if it does then its your door lock.  if not then its a fuse. 

the door lock etc is located behind the panel.  behind that is a metal panel.  have a look at this friend for an idea how to remove it

yes mate.. it definately must be the door lock module...

the courtesy light works fine for all the other doors... only the drivers that is playing up!...

I'll investigate tonight!.. Is the Speedo cluster easy to remove or is it a major job!?...
