Window rubbers?
« on: 04 May 2007, 00:30 »
Evening guys :)

Just trying to tidy up my Golf (5dr), and one thing that needs sorting are the window rubbers.

I think 3/4 window rubbers seemed to have shrunk? Theres about an inch gap along the top of the doors.

When/if i get replacements, how would i swap them over? I heard somewhere that it's a damn fiddly job? Do i just peel the old ones off or are they clipped on?

Thanks

the outer rubbers are a fortune from VW, you don't want to know
Best bet is to find a nice low miler in a scrappy and pinch some!

haha, VW are extortionate, cost me £90 for a pair of inner door seals for a 3dr... when he said £45 i presumed that was for 2, nearly collapsed.

noble tuned - and still not fast enough!

the previous owner of mine, lined the rubber seals with black insulation tape, making the rubber thick enough again to seal the window. It works, but don't look professional. lol
