wheelrefurb, you know the whole thing in veedub land at the moment of highly polished rims, what sort of money does that cost? like taking 16" Porsche design 90's and polishing them so much that they almost look like chrome?

That's something I can't help you with. We used to do polishing but it's messy and there was not enough business to make it worthwhile. They look great but then you have to keep on top of it or the finish soon start to dull and corode. I've finished my boring old 9 spokes with a chrome effect paint finish because my wife uses the car every day and it only gets washed once a month. The wheels always come up nice though, I'll post a picture up tomorrow.

If you really want to go the polished route though, I;ll dig out a number for a commercial polisher that's supposed to do a nice job.

I've actually got a coupel of spare 911 wheels like those in your picture. I also have some new polsih effetc paint finishes to test out so I'll try it out on one to see what you think. I'll try and get a picture for next weekend.

Wheelrefurb- do you rreckon you can do anything about my alloys?
They are Steffans, so are a polished and lacquered alluminium, not painted. I've had a chunk taken out of the rims, so it will need filling, polishing, and lacquering
