Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, better that they're aspiring to be GTi drivers than rasping around in a Nova with a coffee can on the back.
Just my opinion  :)

Got to agree with Fielder on this one. We all started somewhere, but I bet not many of us started out with a VW. The fact they are loyal to the marque, is enough, and I'm sure they would upgrade to a GTI when they are able to afford them.
We even have people who join just so as they can get an idea about the car they want to buy first - Rob118 is a fine example, He runs an AX, but is doing everything he can to get his Golf.
I say welcome them all, and persuade them to upgrade when they can.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

^ think u can have a golfgal_mk1 and golfgal_mk2 accounts and post questions about each mk from the relevant account :P (oh and carry on talkin rubbish as golf gal.. lol :P)

a wooden what hon? :P

anyways...

the point of this thread was for collecting your opinions, i put out two sides of an argument and have ended up defending myself.. half the comebacks have been on the insurance/age thing i put in the first post!

i wasnt sure what you guys thought about people making gti looky likey cars.. let alone having them posting here..

cant u see i've tried to ask if peope think theres a way they can be MORE welcome if people agree...!?! like a styling section.. or something else where non-gti issues can be discussed as well..?  (l;ke has been suggested before for corrados and polo gti's..)
