I like my golf, this crash test does worry me though. So much for build quality...

What did you expect for a 20 odd year old car ?
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Well I had a bad accident in my first MKII last year at over 60mph. I got sent sideways accross a motorway by another car, only to crash into the barrier. The car that hit me was a latish Toledo. Every panel on his car was damaged. All tyres punctured and not one wheel was facing in the right direction. Mine? I drove it home.
Its now back on the road with a different owner with a new wing, new bumber and no secondary damage worth mentioning.
Speaks volumes for a 16 year old Golf.

i watched that and then the mk4 version... scarey stuff.
mind you, i'd rather crash in a mk2 golf compared to something of a similar age - renault 5 turbo or 205 gti!
