fuel pump relay bypass

Ive just figured out how 2 bypass the fuel pump relay car started up 1st time no probs, i am intending 2 leave it like this as at least the car is on the road now  ,

what r the long term affects of doin this?
it aint gonna harm the car is it?

I think it could mean trouble if you crash, as the relay, if working, will cut off the fuel, if not then it will just keep pumping out which is never a good thing, but don't quote me on this.

yep thats basically it, if you crash and the engine cuts out the pump will continue to dump fuel out everyuwhere, if theres a split in a line and a spark, bad news!

Ive got 2 relays, 1 brand new from gsf for 20 sqid and 1 from scrappy both work fine but its not the relay thats causing problem its the fuel pump fuse which jus keeps bowing.

Appart from the fact if i have a crash are there any other problems the fuel pump being on constantly would cause?

I'd say that your car (and possibly you and others) blowing up if you had a crash is a cause for concern though. If the fuse is blowing then you need to try and track down why as for some reason there's more power going through than it should, so have you checked that there's not some random wire hanging down somewhere that's shorting out the fuse etc ?

if it keeps blowing fuses theres a good reason for it, which you want to track down and fast.  Wiring problems are not best solved by bypassing fuses, if you do that you risk starting an electrical fire!

ive done everything, replaced fuel pump, followed wires to pump no cuts or burns, changed fusebox and all connections, new relays new fuses, dont get me wrong this is my last resort, we only get a good couple of days sunshine jus wanna make the most of it, widout the risk of getting killed

well summat aint right!  If you bypass it theres more risk the car will burst into flames if you crash, or just burst into flames because of dodgy wiring somewhere.

What ampage fuse are you using, is it high enough?

using a 15amp

hmm should be enough...  perhaps theres some damaged wires somewhere, i.e. inside the insulation even thought they look ok.  If I were you I'd junk the wiring to the fuel pump and run some fresh wire to the fusebox!
