bonnet wont close

hello erm i opened my bonnet today and when i slammed it shut it wont close  ??? the cable is ok ..
any idea`s?? :'(

does the catch where the lock goes move from side to side?? wd40 it??

its like msn here but only slower ;D no sliding the catch stays open ???

use chat top right corner easier to chat in there, im sure that catch should move, as u puu the cable it pulls it away from the lock opening the bonnet

the spring has probally gone, look in the hole and if you cant see the catch then the spring aint pullin it back!

MInes been gone for a while, i just reach my thinger in and pull the catch across and then slam it shut!!! ;D

adjust the spring on the bonnet. i unscrewed it anti-clockwise using a flat head screwdriver and a spanner.

shuts with one finger now 8)

 Not being funny but have you made sure the latch to open the bonnet is pushed backwards fully towards the pedals.

you might find the spring has snapped, happened on mine, it had just rusted over the past decade then finally gave up the ghost a few months back

i just went and got a replacment spring from a motor factors shop

haynes details it well - u need to take the grille of to get access to the mechaniism
