i'll have a look at it and see how tricky it is but for that kind of cash i may as well buy a new one as i seem to slowly be rebuilding the car anyway! plus, it's one less thing for anyone wanting the 8V to have to think about.
When the bloke replacing the fuel pump came to take off the old one the nuts were all seized up. Cost me for another pipe from the accumulator to the pump.....it feels like a money pit at the minute my car. Good job i like driving it!
Hi, are you anywhere near me?

Worksop
Hard luck with changing the wrong pump first, lots of people go down this route and blame the main pump when they should look to the lift pump. :embarassed:
I managed to shift the big nut by hand, after 30 mins of grunting and swearing

sore elbow for a few days though

Perhaps I should have used a fine adjustement tool

Be careful with the fuel gauge bits when you withdraw and replace the pump.
Also, I recommend a VW pump over a gsf one. The gsf one did not fit the old strainer & when I went back they said we dont do the strainers.
