ignoring the fact its a scirocco 16v inlet with the throttle body on the opposite side.. and the fact its blatently a mk2.. its also got a whacking great supercharger in there.... not the best example pic to post

I spotted that too topher but was just pointing out that it wasnt a Mk 3 Inlet manifold!
loads of other differences too, like the fuel rail.

i was in a rush and trying to find an 8v to compare it to lol...

you can see from that what i mean.. if his engine dont look like that then its the 8v lol

if it looks like this

then someone has been tinkering a lil bit too much haha

weird, as going from the badge outside it says 16v, wondering if i have the right engine code,

would vag-com show up how many valves or the engine code anywhere?

the sticker in the boot is very faded and hard to tell what it really says

If it's an AGG it's an 8v.

Not really what you want to hear but the anniversary doesn't have a 16v badge, just has a red GTI badge on front and back.

Has it got the chequered interior, golf ball gear knob, red seatbelts BBS wheels etc?

looks like its an 8v then, it has the chequered seats, golf ball gear know, red seatbelts and bbs wheels yes

just isnt a 16v engine, and has GTI 16v in red on the back.

is it worth keep this as it is or should i just convert it like i wanted to?

keep it stock mate, it'll keep value as a standard Anni.

If you want a 16v then sell the Anni and buy a good 16v and you should have some money left over for a few mods.
