Whats the Best Fuel for my GTI?

tesco 99 96p a litre down here in the hot Sunny South

So have we come to some sort of agreement/conclusion as it which fuel is the best?
Alot of opinions so far with some people differing their opinions....

- BP Ultimate (is that RON98?)
- Shell V-Power (is that RON98?)
- Total Supreme Unleaded (is that RON98?)
- Tesco RON99
?

Unfortunetly, my local Tesco only does RON97 (which i had to put in yesterday).

Had to pay 99.9 yesterday for vmax diesel!! Vmax unleaded is 97.9 at the mo.

IMO I wouuld only use Shell if I had the choice, but the new Tesco 99 sounds like its just as good.  As for the other stuff, I would avoid if I could.

No, the best fuel, now proven by two independent tests:
- Tesco 99 RON
A close run second would be:
- Shell V-Power 99 RON

There are no 98 RON fuels on sale, to the best of my knowledge, in the UK.  All the other "Super Unleadeds" are 97 RON.  My personal order of preference would be:
- Total,
then
- Esso,
and as a last resort,
- BP Ultimate 97

If you live near a large town which has two or more Tesco filling stations, then try the other one, because Tesco are trying to roll out the 99 into at least one site in all towns.  I live in the sticks, and even my local Tesco has 99, but 4p a litre dear than when I go to the "big city".

I filled up with £43.00 worth of Tesco's 99 this morning, but without a turbo I don't suppose it will make feck all difference, only too my wallet

If it was my daily drive I would be going back soon Phil, but i have an old sh!te box Mondeo for work, so it eases the pain a little, exceprt when i get a month like april, with Tax, insurance and RAC cover due on the Mondy.

i feel your pain,just re-taxed mine today for another 6 months, dam chancellor has increased it another £6 to £112.50 for 6 months, although its not half as bad as youre R32 is and will be in 12 months.
