can anyone tell me if im and idiot for doin this?
yesterday i removed my standard filter element and put stocking material over the plastic trumpet leading to my airflow meter to stop anu crap gettin in then replaced the lid of the airbox as normal it sound really nice along with my dump valve sounding much louder and it pulls so much better but am i likely to damage the airflow meter if i continue to use it like this its a 99 t reg golf gti turbo by the way thanks in advance

Hows the stocking suppose to filter out the dust particles ect from entering your engine..? if i were you id either replace with standard filter or get a free flow filter

if you get an induction kit, get a proper one with a cold air intake, or one that mounts outside the engine bay, there are loads available for mk4's. the tights are a baaaaaaaaaaad idea, even if it sounds good.

Surely if you have a mk4 turbo you can spend a few quid on an air filter!!! I mean it's not likes it a cheap to run 200 quid sh!tter that you can run into the ground!
