MK2 Campaign Edition Rust?
« on: 26 April 2007, 14:28 »
Hi All!

I’ve found an Oak Green MK2 Golf GTI Campaign Edition that I’d like to buy, but apparently it needs a bit of welding...

I can’t look at the car before I go to pick it up, (ebay), and I was just wondering how bad it could be? Basically, what I want to know is, can anything be repaired? At what point does a car become un-salvageable?

It’s going for a £750, so it might be worth a bit of restoration?

Sorry for this really newbie question!

Thanks,

Dan

not worth anywhere near that if it needs welding, looks like someone has added oak green tax

Is it a genuine Campaign ed?  I seem to remember a debate a while ago as to whether they actually existed or whether they were an ebay seller invention!!??

wasnt a campaign edition as such, I think its actually a '1 in 10 million' golf :)

a mk2 that needs welding isn't worth anywhere near that, I got an arguably more desirable solid 90spec MK2 in a better colour for £375 ;)

good idea mate. i know sum1 who bought a escort rst for 2000. they said it needed a bit of welding. it ended up having a rotten front panel, sills and chassis legs.
basically the engine was the only part of it worth having
