As far as I could tell they were all the same sizes, didn't do them together so didn't compare, and the tool is the same for mk2, fits both of my cars and the bits did too, ones a 87 gti and the others a 95 1.6 cabrio!!

I'd really like to know about this too as I also have an extremely dodgy gear change on my cable shift mk3 16v. I contacted GSF about these repair kits i'd heard about and they said they have a kit, after I reminded them I have a 16v with a cable change rather than rod they suddenly decided they don't do the kit
