mk2 hates mornings!

Hello people!

im now the (very) proud owner of a lovely 16v mk2. my 1st VW ever!! only thing annoying me is that it always needs to warm up in the mornings. it idles funny and generally runs sh*te for about 5-10 mins before settling, its no big deal but would love to fix it as im never in a good mood at 7am anyway so this just winds me up!

any ideas? is this common?

get it set up properly, timing, CO and idle see how it goes.

If that doesn't help then its likely to be the "warming up" devices, eg. Warm Up Regulator, cold start injector Thermotime switch etc...

Sure a good service and tune will sort it though!

i bought the golf from a lad from newport called 'georgeous george'....probably not his real name. but i saw it on the clubgti forum for sale.  i'll try and get the pics he used to advertise it up as they looked like professional pics
