Checking temp sensor

Does anyone know how to check if the temperature sensor or sender is working correctly?

I'm guessing its one of the ones in the black plastic flange on the front of the cylinder head, if so what problems are you getting as one is for temp gauge and the other (blue) is the ecu temp sender and if this fails it can cause running problems.

I think its hard to read the resitance of those senders blue ones due to there nature and interaction with the rest of the senders. It shouldn't be that expensive to replace, unless its the ECU thats the problem?

Well i think the ECU one is working as the MFA computer wrpks and the engine runs fine, however on the clocks the sppedo was 10mph out, fuel gauge probably sitn working, although there isnt much petrol in it and temp wasnt working, although the engine was pretty warm when we arrived.

It could be my clocks, which i'm changing for some that do work but i was wondering if there wa s aquick way to test the temperature one.

They're only about £6 from the dealers, if you do need a new one that is. Worth also having a look at the condition of your flange thing (fnar fnar  ). They can crack quite easily apparently. Mine was leaking a little bit, because some muppet had used silicone selant instead of a proper o-ring thing

Well the temp sensor costed £21 from the bloody stealerships, havnt fitted it yet as i've got to bleed the system and clean it all out yet so i hope it works
