im a mechanic so i can put the engine and that in my self that not the problem but the i wont to do the car justice and make it look asd gud as it shud be but was wondering on the price he got it up for 1500 but becoz im a mate he said i can have it at a 1000. it wud be easier if wiring and that in as droping engine in will be easy. thinking about puting a 1.6 back in as thats wot was took out. the pics are really nice but is it worth it.

What you need to find out is what would a mk1 be worth with a full respray, 1.6 engine, rear disk conversions with a half decent interior and see if you can do what you want to do to it for less than that, if so then do it. I think that being a mechanic yourself is probably half the battle here.

When you say 1.6 do you mean a 1.6 carbed or 1.6 injection from an early mk1 ? As a rough guide I reckon a well resprayed mk1 with decent alloys, decent engine (1.6i), decent interior would fetch about 3.5k, give or take a few hundred either way.

As an estimate you might get an interior for about £500 tops, engine sorted for 1k so all in that would make 2.5k, bargain I reckon.
