HELP!!! door won't open

hi there everyone i need desperate help!!  i've just fitted mk 3 handles on my g/f's mk 2 gti (3 dr) now the door will not open from inside or out?? i have removed the door panel and tried forcing from inside but it won't budge. just wondering if anyone has come across this befor or if any one knows how i can get the door open??

is the door locked? regardless of wherre the pin appears to be?

no i can move the lever inside the door up and down, but when i try to open via inside door handle the door lock pin does move down as if it's trying to lock, really cofused and very stressed

  finally got the door open, needs new catch, seized up. quick call to golfnutz me thinkz
