just thought i would say hello im not offically an owner yet but am picking the car up tommorrow morning

its a mk3 gti j reg needs some bits and bobs doing. would some one be kind enough as to tell me where i can source cheap parts from.

If you want cheap parts check out the Good Guys section on here.
You can also check out 'Euro Car Parts' and 'German, Swedish, French car parts'.
If you're a bit more adventurous, you could ask if anyone knows of a good VW breaker in your area.
