u just need a std VAG gasket

do u still have std cams in it?

Vernier pulleys are used where the head has been previously skimmed and therefore the vernier is needed to get the timing more exact. as blocking skimmin could move the timin out 1/2 tooth

porting n polishing varies from place to place - best to ring round places and ask - or find a recommended one in your area

i think somebody has been telling porkies considering the VR6 has a completly different block shape to that of a 4 cylinder so it'd never fit

Have a look at www.pumaracing.co.uk for you head work as I have heard they do a good job. I think the main bloke there is called Steve. Does not come cheap but at least you know your not just getting a flap wheel down you ports. also a very intresting web site.

As most of the people above have said theres no need for a special head gasket as a VAG one will do exactly what it says on the tin.

As for the cylinder head porting work your after, do a yell.com search in your area for engineers. I did one in my area and it came up with a load of tuning places I never knew were there.

The big companies charge a lot of money for head work and a lot of the smaller places have the machines and know how to do it far cheaper.
