GTI > 4Motion valance swap.
« on: 03 February 2004, 13:28 »
Okay lads the 4motion rear valance is ordered ready for the milltek. I know some of you have done this yourself and i think i read it needs a bit of cutting before it goes on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Chris.

Had a Miltech full system fitted myself about 4 months ago and had to do abit of cutting  to fit the V6 4 Motion Vallance, When you line up the vallance befor fitting you will see just to the right of the exhaust you need to cut about 1 1/2 inches of metal off, I don't think the metal does anything so don't worry, I haven't had any props yet,
The tow bar wont sit in the right place either but don't worry just paint it black, or if your car is silver and you have the front and rear Vallances colour coded ;D like me then you do't need to worry about paint , It'l probably go un noticed.

It's on ! Picked it up today and it was a doddle to fit, actually took longer to get the old one off than it did to put the new one on.
It's the left hand side mounting bracket that needs "adjusting" , quick cut down the middle of it with the tinsnips and bent it up out of the way, then a new nut/bolt in the hole next to it.
Other than that there was just a couple of plastic stiffener fins that needed chopping on the new part to get it to sit snuggly  :)

Here you go richy, not sure what's available exhaust-wise for the non-turbos, never had reason to look.

Around 40 notes for the 4motion bumper spoiler, ?270 plus vat for the backbox/centre section. Downpipe and cat is optional, but worth every penny of ?390 plus vat  ;D
It also sounds every bit as nice as it looks  ;)
