Throttle Body Removel
« on: 03 February 2004, 11:36 »
My 8v keeps cutting out when and stalling when i depress the clutch while approaching junctions and stuff, and i noticed on a previous thread that a mucky throttle body could be to blame. I am planning on cleaning mine out but dont really know where to start.
If any one has done this before then a few pointers would'nt go amiss! :-\

remove the intake pipe and rubber. then disconnect the throttle cable. there are 4 allen head bolts holding the throttle body to the inlet manifold.

you'll need a new gasket when replacing.

or it could be your throttle micro switch, check the connections from either side of the connectors, and also in the two switches (these are on the throttle body) check the switch with a circuit tester, i cant remember the numbers but golfvr6 may do.

Golfvr6- that switch, my car started doin it again the other day and the cable had fallen off the connector. which was an arse.

when throttle closed, infinite resistance
when throttle open  , 0 resistance
