failed MOT

right after buying it for 200 a couple of weeks ago it was the moment of truth weather it was a good buy or not
i had a feeling it would fail but didi not know what on
BUT IT DID BIG TIME!!!
it might sound worse then it is but i am going to try and do it myself
what do you good people think
any help would be very much appreciated

Brakes Failures: RBT Service Brake Efficiency: 44%, RBT Park Brake Efficiency: 10%, RBT
Front Brake Imbalance: 26%
Reasons for refusal of a Test Cert ificate
1)Offside (play at o/s wheel) steering system has excessive free play detected at
the steering wheel (steering rack fitted) [2.2.A.Ib]

2)Nearside rear rear wheel bearing has excessive play [2.6.2]

3)Offside windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively [8.2.2]

4)Service brake efficiency below requirements [3.7.A.8]

5)Parking brake efficiency below requirements [3.7.A.9/10]

6)Front wheels brakes imbalanced [3.7.A.2e]

Not that bad mate, new pads and discs all round and a new rack will sort it out.

how easy is it to fit a new rack
its a 93 2.0gti 8v with power steering

I dont know about the rack mate but as Bazza said that dont sound to bad seems like a steel at £200.... :smiley:
