GRRRRRRRR
« on: 06 April 2007, 23:30 »
ok, so i went to motorworld (my EX place of work) to get some car stuff on the cheap.

bought my stuff and came out to the car and nothing...it's happened twice recently, but after a few mins i try agai and she's fine, this time i tried to fire her up and she didnt want to start, but she was kinda turning over.
my boss had a go at helping her start. so after failed attempts at trying everything possible ireluctantly rang the RAC at 5:30, as i'm 2 streets away from my house. few more phone calls as the time passes wondering where they are.

Rac man comes after 50mins so it's 6:20, checks everything, he agrees that she's not getting fuel so he sets to checking fuses, relays (he had no idea which relay it was even tho i had my haynes) and checks fuel pump, all of which he say are fine, altho the pump might not be giving enough pressure.

By this time it's about 6:50, and he says to me "can't tow you home as bumper is too close to towing eye" fair enough i think, he'll be able to put it on his A frame. Oh no was i wrong..... this time he says "i've only used this once or twice and it'll take me half an hour or so to get you on. and i think the car is too low to for me to puton the frame (it's STANDARD, they got my bro's on an RAC A Frame asnd thats all wasy down on coilyds.) so he says cos it'll take 30mins for me to do that atleast i'll call for a flatbed. Then he leaves me!!!!!! so i ring my dad fuming, waited 20 mins then rang RAC again, ages after bloke has left me on my own someone finally calls me back and says they'll be with you in 45 mins hannah.. ok i say, 45mins from when he left means they'll be here soon, oh no she says, he's just called thru now for a flatbed. we'll be sending a local company as by now it's about 8:20 GRrrr am i angry by now. there's me and the dog sat in th car, altho he was just asleep while i waited and waited and waited.

finally a lovely man comes for 3 city recovery, and picks me up no problem.

hopefully its just the fuel filter clogged, bought everything for a full service to do today, but muppet at the shop given me all wrong parts yesterday, so i've gotta take em back tom and hope that new fuel filter sorts the problem. Arrrrgh...
oh yeah, i finally walked in the door at 9pm.

i was hoping to take her to her first show on sunday. means i'll have to miss out.

if she doesnt work, i'll have to insure the blue opal rust bucket that my bro bought as a run about while he sorted out his engine in the mk3 after cambelt going.

the escort has a "han's fingers" shaped hole on the tailgate when i prodded it  :nerd:

awww doggy

shame bout the RAC and the car, my friend had similar problems with his mk1 with fueling problems, couldnt figure out what it was, sometimes it would start, othertimes it would cut out while driving, ended up replacing the fuel pump and putting a few filters in through the fuel line, seemed to work, kinda weird.

Not amused I guess Han it's a ballache when your car does stuff like that, I take it has plenty of fuel in it? I spent an afternoon changing the fuel pump on my Mini and it turned out it just needed a bit more fuel in the tank and the sender was wrong :(

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08
